After watching the Andy Goldsworthy video above:
If you work in your yard: Find natural objects to make an outdoor environmental sculpture, such as rocks, twigs, leaves, etc. Arrange them into a sculpture: stack them, lay them in patterns, or whatever your imagination dreams up. If you work indoors, find objects you really like and arrange them into a type of sculpture. Take a photo if you can, because these types of sculptures don't last: they get taken down and put away or blown away by the wind. Have fun!

Everyday Object art

A fun challenge!
Find everyday objects that you can use for the activity below. Popcorn, a rubberband, a comb, a cookie, etc. (As seen above, Victor Nunes is an artist who is well known for this type of art.) Activity: Glue or tape your found object on a piece of paper. (Or you can just lay it on your paper to remove later.) Found objects can be either seeds, lettuce, popcorn, paperclips, pencil shavings, fuzz, scissors, bottle caps, etc., etc., - the possibilities are endless. Draw around your object to make it part of a drawing. It can be part of a creature, a wheel, someone's hair, plant, etc., etc. Use your imagination and have fun! Be sure to take photos of your work and/or keep it. Have fun! (Send me a photo, if you can! (o:) |

Is it . . . or isn't it?
Mr. Laurent Laveder kindly gave permission to use his photos above
and inspire our project.
- Thank you, Mr. Laveder! -
Things that are farther away look smaller than their actual size. By posing and interacting with a distant background object, it suddenly looks like it is part of the closer foreground with you - "forcing the perspective". How wonderful is that!
Take a photo of yourself interacting with something in the background. You can make it look like you are holding it, wearing it, or interacting in some interesting way. Your photo can
tell a story, be poetic, make someone smile, or amaze!
Note: If you don't have access to a camera, do a drawing of the same project!
Email me your image - I'd love to see it! [email protected]
